WEDDING OF AMAZEMENT

My big news for 2014 is that I got married on New Year's Eve! I know it's so cliche to say it was one of the best days of my life, and yet there is no other way to describe it - it really was.

2013 was a big year. Work at Arts Project Australia was busy and hugely rewarding, having worked flat-chat all year on exhibitions and events, showcasing artwork by our 110 artists nationally and internationally. I took my first solo show since 2009 to the USA, exhibiting photography and jewellery at the Grunwald Gallery at Indiana University. Despite these achievements, the real highlight of 2013 was my New Year's Eve wedding at Mt Hotham. My friends and family were amazing in the lead-up and at the wedding, the food which we catered ourselves was divine and the weather was just brilliant. Who could ask for more? To top it all off, we now have the most spectacular wedding rings, courtesy of Adelaide-based jewellers Sue Lorraine and Julia Blyfield (pictured above).

Sim respectfully acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which I create and exhibit art. I pay my respects to Elders past and present, as well as to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the wider Melbourne community and beyond. Indigenous sovereignty has never been ceded. I acknowledge that I work and live on the country on which Members and Elders of The Wurundjeri people and their forebears have been custodians for many centuries and on which Aboriginal People have performed age-old ceremonies of celebration, initiation and renewal. I acknowledge their living culture and unique role in this region's life.
