PAPERSKIN

SL04-0700.jpg

2004-present

Rings Sterling silver, (oxidised) 15 x 20 x .5mm (approx.) Sizes and dimensions vary

The layering of materials gives an object its strength while creating an aesthetic that is weightless and light. The textural surface on Paperskin rings used to solely be created using scraps of plastic bubble-wrap rolled through a mill with silver, which was reminiscent of human skin or the pages in an old, worn book.

Now the series includes rollerprinting leaf patterns into the surface of the silver and with this process the pieces still retain their fragility.
